In what's surely one of the most bizarre reasons of a sat launch delay to date, all CASIC's KZ series flights - from KZ-1A/Xingyun (mid-February) onward - might face delays per reports as their rocket division & assembly plant are in Wuhan, center of the #Coronovirus outbreak.

Mostly it's because the roads are shut down. Really not taking chances there during the Chinese New year, when Hundreds of Million Chinese go home to their families and back again. Nightmare scenario, even though this particular outbreak seems to be on the milder side of terrible
Yeah and God knows how much of that has spread to where I am right now (2 confirmed cases already). The whole story is almost a complete match to the development of SARS 17 years ago, except that we don't know if this will turn into something even more lethal.

From what I have heard it is less infectious than SARS. Also, there has been medical progress since than. E.g. they have sequenced the genome of 17 strains of this infection already, when it took a whole year after the pandemic to sequence SARS. This should be working out.
