I thought the RP-1 was cool enough to make the skin freeze in the wet environment of French Guyana. So the RP-1 is only in the extreme bottom of the boosters I guess.

Yes, that's precisely why I have a hard time understanding the ice pattern on the boosters. I thought it should have stopped higher... or that the RP-1 froze the skin.
