OK! It’s been a bit of a busy day, but now I have time, I can introduce myself properly to you lovely lot, but before I do I’d like to thank @Taraustralis for letting me look after this account for a week, and to @michele0511 for doing such a great job last week.

My name’s Nina, and I’m the Planetarium Coordinator at @GSCPlanetarium. It’s Scotland’s largest planetarium and we just celebrated our fourth rebirthday! It’ll be planetarium-a-rama round here, because I’ll be tweeting from @BAPConference later this week.

I have been working in science communication since 2013, after getting a job at Edinburgh Science Festival. That turned into working at Abu Dhabi Science Festival, and now Glasgow Science Centre!

As a Sci Comm at Glasgow Science Centre, I used to deliver shows in the *stunning* opto-mechanical planetarium, as well as doing workshops for schools and the public.

Back in 2015, the decision was made to upgrade our planetarium to a digital system, and to hire a dedicated planetarium team to really open up what we could do with the dome.

Becoming part of that team genuinely changed my life, and although I was incredibly proud the day we launched the new planetarium (Dame Jocelyn Bell-Burnell officially declared it open), I’m most proud of what the amazing team have achieved over the last four years.

But, like I said, I’ll be talking planetariums (or planetaria, both are OK, should you be wondering) later this week. What do I do when I’m not at work?
