Mixed feelings here on this plan. It's the most probable re-use plan for such small rockets, but I'm not sure that the recycle benefits can cover the costs of the recover ship and (most importantly) helo services for parachute slinging.https://twitter.com/NASASpaceflight/status/1158864269242445826 …

In addition to that carbon fiber doesn’t like heat at all. Heat shields may be required.

I'm guessing there's plenty of heli-loggers who would like to increase their lifespan with something safer like booster catching.

If they are sneaky, they could move manufacturing facilities onto the ship to begin refurb while going back to port. Even if they just recover the engines without having to pull them from the water, it may reduce costs in the long run...question mark??

It's fairly straightforward as long as the booster is in stable descent. They won't be catching a long heavy object but only the heavy point mass at the location of the capture device.

This is well within the capabilities of heavy helicopters. Any pilots so engaged will practice the maneuver often as procedures are refined. There is precedent in mid air retrieval of parachuting film canisters. All those pilots retired, but its a skill that can be replicated.
