Where is the light coming from? The sun? Isn't Yutu2 on the dark side? Am I misunderstanding something?

Although we refer to it (incorrectly) as the dark side of the Moon, that side receives sunlight too. The name is more to do with us not being able to see it from Earth.

how are they getting pictures / data back? if it's on the far side, I guess they have some orbiter(s) up there to relay data?
