This is nonsense. Police let demonstrators through the cordon to show their signs. CNN along with other media simply filmed them doing so.

Something I've often seen. People are actually there (nearby) and brought to a shooting area. Pbly several groups will pass there.

It's a common setup in news covering large events. A fixed shooting location, scouts going through event, bringing pple w caught attention
