Pruning is pretty nice - keeps your consensus client sub-100 gb, leaving more space for the execution client - we already do the same (ie are efficient) for memory, cpu and network usage, so storage is naturally next. Why are you not using yet, really?
Quote Tweet
If you are still not taking advantage of the --history:prune option, we recommend testing it in a non-production environment, as it will be enabled by default in our next release. 🙌

The most trusted name in cryptography, relied upon by the world's governments for their highest security applications for decades, sold products backdoored by the CIA. How can we ensure this won't happen again? Open-source software. GridPlus will open-source its firmware in Q3.

Not every claim of "Self-Custody" is true. Not every wallet is a self-custody wallet. Let's fix the misuse of terms and focus on user empowerment. As part of our series of blogs to enable decentralization through a user-centric lens, we attempt to tighten the definitions.

9 audits from top firms, yet all audits were able to find new bugs. This proves that no audit guarantees 100% security. Audits are super important and helpful, but everyone, please stop using them as certification.

Has anyone considered the relatively low data retention lifetime of Secure Element based secret storage? Google says ~25 years while ChatGPT gives us less (~10). This should def be considered for your long term storage solution for your crypto and other secrets.

It is remarkable to think that only in the past 15-20 years have we moved most of our private communications to digital channels with centralized storage & the processing power to perform bulk scanning. Coincidentally that’s nearly as long as encrypted messaging has been around.

My personal opinion, something that was ubitquitously used in the past was hacked and sat on for years. The threat actors are draining now and it's hard to reason why. If you have old funds, move them now.

For the past 48hrs I've been unwinding a massive wallet draining operation 😳😭 I don't know how big it is but since Dec 2022 it's drained 5000+ ETH and ??? in tokens / NFTs / coins across 11+ chains. Its rekt my friends & OGs who are reasonably secure. No one knows how.
