They tell us to "pull up our pants." "Get a job." "Wear a suit." "Cut your hair." Here's what I know... did ALL of this and more. Was literally the epitome of respectability. And he was murdered by police in his own home. He never laid a finger on this cop.

This headline would have been politically unthinkable just a few years ago. Grassroots organizing + kitchen table conversations have changed the tide on Medicare for All. This is the power of movements: supporting change and advancing tenets of a modern + moral society.

TW: sexual assault He’s Pastor “Monster” because I live everyday fighting to get back the trust, the love, and the purpose that he stole. Yeah, he's Pastor “Monster” to me. And yet, some call him friend.

TW: sexual assault. He's Pastor “Monster” to me because I'll never forget the violent, agonizing pain he inflicted and my thought, “I would rather die,” just before disconnecting checking out mentally during the assault.

TW: sexual assault. That's the day that Pastor “Monster” took a piece of me that I've been fighting for two years to get back. Pastor “Monster???” Yeah he's Pastor “Monster” to me because I remember the intensity of his gaze, the look in his eyes.

TW: sexual assault : : As I look at all the posts remembering late Ferguson activist Darren Seals, it is a reminder that it was also the day, while I was grieving Darren's death, Pastor “Monster” took something from me that I didn't want to give him.

Idc how short her dress was, she didn’t deserve to be groped. That thinking is rooted in rape culture. I’ve experienced this type of assault in the church over the years. Watching was triggering in so many ways.
