I used to use space heaters to heat my home because we couldn't afford the gas bill. One day the outlet started shooting out flames and nearly burned down my 2-year-old baby's room.
We almost lost our baby. We almost lost our home. Public power could have prevented this.

Today, I'm introducing a resolution to make power publicly owned with .
It’s time for an energy revolution. And public power that is renewable and affordable is at the heart of it. We need public power.
A national solar panel program could eliminate energy bills and provide reliable power. It’d be nice if every government building had solar. Oil companies are destroying the planet and nuclear power waste will last centuries.

We've needed it it for 50 years. It should be free anyway. It's amazing how we don't let monopolies happen, yet here we are. Even made a game out of it. What a mockery. Thank you for being the change we fight for daily. You are the best, congresswoman Bush.💪🏾👊🏾

It would be an honor to have you and any of your house constituents visit the wind turbine farm I work at in Illinois. We can talk how to revolutionize the utility industry in this country. Tagging my local reps.

Nebraskan here. Our state is nearly 100% public power, and we enjoy benefits such as; some of the fewest outages in the nation, some of the lowest prices in the nation, THE best energy infrastructure in the nation, and more. Power should not be profitable.

Capitalism IS the problem - not the government. Einstein told us in 1949 that we had to democratize all the major institutions because they were all oligarchy-controlled, and that includes both political parties and the free press.
Add energy, banking, health, food, etc.

It's a shame to see corporate privatizers destroying public power (and the electrical workers union) in Puerto Rico as we speak.

Please take a look at my local electric company called SMUD (Sacramento Municipal Utility District). Its an honest to goodness non-profit electric company. PG&E has tried to take them out for over 50 yrs. They keep the lights on when PG&E fails.

Absolutely!
The entire state of Texas froze because private companies refused to live up to their responsibilities. Wild fires raged across California for the exact same reasons.
Since the private sector clearly can't do the job, maybe it's time to nationalize energy production
