The Seattle Times is controlled by the Blethen family w/ 50.5% ownership. That has made a big difference in staffing and quality. But the other 49.5% is owned by Chatham, a private equity firm. The family is in the driver's seat, but the wolf is around if anything goes sideways.

Slight correction: If you’re not publishing more that two or three local stories a day with some substance and without breathless clickbait heds. Not commenting on ST but on too much of what I see, esp former McClatchy. I might actually sub to a site w only 3 best stories/day.

Also - make sure your online signup/subscription process is SEAMLESS and ALWAYS WORKS. I couldn't get it to work when I lived there a few years ago. I did try.
