I believe that she was diagnosed with H1N1, but died from viral meningitis. Are the two always linked? Or do I have the facts wrong?

The H1N1 gave her meningitis - it is a complication of the flu

Meningitis seems exceptionally rare from what I'm reading, at least with previous outbreaks of H1N1. Not good.

Rare is not zero. You want to take the risk? Children die - you want to take the risk?

What, exactly, is your point? I simply made a statement of fact. Who are you arguing with? I've already gotten my flu shot.

I’ve been a tenured biology professor for 29 years. My tweet stands as it was originally written. The abstracts I was looking at, in South Africa, China, etc report meningitis (bacterial or viral ?) linked to H1N1 at a low percentage. There’s not a lot to misinterpret.
