Rare is not zero. You want to take the risk? Children die - you want to take the risk?
-
What, exactly, is your point? I simply made a statement of fact. Who are you arguing with? I've already gotten my flu shot.

If you take the tweet in context with the rest of that thread my concern was that the link to meningitis might be a new concern with this version of H1N1. The woman who died was an anti vaxxer , but I don’t believe that there are vaccines for viral meningitis.

Isn’t it rare because virtually all college students need to be vaccinated against it

-
yes most college students must get vaccinated before they move into a dorm, and vaccinations would reduce the probability of getting meningitis. It's sort of self evident.
-
That is against BACTERIAL meningitis.
-
yes, that would not impact a viral form of meningitis.
-
My point about literature on H1N1/ meningitis links includes studies from other countries where immunizations for meningitis may not necessarily be required. I haven't read each study to see if the authors discriminate between bacterial/viral or the dates covered.
-
it is not always discovered. Requires testing and/or autopsy
