Misogynists like to list things that “signal a feminist” like tats, piercings, dyed hair. Those looks are 👍🏼, but I do love to post this in response to show I can sneak up behind u at the Republican Nat’l Convention, whisper “abortion is healthcare” & disappear into the crowd.

I’m trying to teach myself coding on my phone (can’t steadily use a keyboard yet, not healthy enough) and I can’t remember the last time I was so inept at a completely foreign skill. But as god is my witness I will push that boulder up the hill if it’s the last thing I do.

My impostor syndrome tells me that nothing I’ve accomplished counts until it survives a near death experience. Like if it doesn’t almost kill me, then I don’t have proof of concept.

When you hear Trump talking about the crime rate among immigrants, remember that his national security advisor, campaign manager, deputy campaign manager, longtime political advisor and personal attorney are all criminals.

It’s irritating when people say “It’s just my opinion!” in the face of contradictory facts, as if an opinion is somehow value neutral. Opinions can be objectively wrong and often are. You aren’t any less stupid clinging to wrongness if you call that wrongness an “opinion”.

People are talking about the Iowa caucus as if the Democratic led House didn’t pass laws to protect elections and the Mitch McConnell led GOP Senate didn’t shoot down every single one. Oh hey, while we’re here, Ivanka Trump bought voting machines. So we can look forward to that.

The word “ableism” is extremely valuable to me, because when I first got sick I had to no words to explain how my boyfriend & his friends were so unrelentingly cruel to me, so I assumed I had to tolerate it, or that I was being difficult. I wasn’t. I just got sick & they hated it

I still love makeup, even though I’m usually too sick to apply it. I like that seeing my face w/o it for a few years gave me new self acceptance. But women are expected to attain an impossible beauty standard with zero work & 💵. Be gorgeous but we’ll shun you for what it takes.

Tweeted about no makeup, & appreciate all the lovely feedback. Just wanted to say that no makeup doesn’t = moral superiority & women are required to wear it in work situations. Plus it’s fun, creative, & important to the identities of many trans, no-binary, & gender fluid ppl.

It took a year of being too sick to apply makeup to realize I could still be beautiful without it. I don’t like to silver line my illness, it’s brutal & unrelenting & has taken so much. But it’s also taught me that I’m the baddest bitch I know. And I can be pretty without makeup.

This is my third birthday trapped in bed. It’s psychologically rough watching years pass by from a sedentary vantage point. Friends move, get promoted, get married, have kids, and I’m just... here. I wonder, if I get my legs back one day, what will be left of what I used to know

My mom, in her 60’s, did this too. You know how crazy it is to get someone to not just leave after decades, but realize they must switch teams to fight against the GOP? Read the comments. There are many like them. I know many who regret their vote (or abstaining) in 2016

Worst mistake I ever made was saying nothing when a Ford model told me she had a crush on me, cuz I’d moved to a new area and wanted friends more than girlfriends/boyfriends/sex friends. They are harder to make & important. Good intent & all, but I still think about her. Damn it

Unless a disabled person specifically asks you for advice, please don’t grill them on what treatments they’ve tried. If I could have healed myself through surgery, money, effort, restriction, medication, research, PT, & pain, I would have been better 7 years ago.

Not to mention, even if this person wasn’t a complete moron who failed sex ed, slut shaming & stigmatizing STI’s has caused mass pain & death. You aren’t less of a person if you’ve had sex & got unlucky. Stop moralizing health, its ableist AF.

One of my most ignorant ableist interactions was when I had to wear a abdominal brace after my hysterectomy. Was asked about it, said I had endometriosis, & the grocery checker chastised me for “sleeping around”. Endo is a genetic autoimmune disease you ableist f*ckwads.
