This whole thread is a joy and has renewed my faith in humour. Today the sun is shining which is due to Brexit of course - we’ve reclaimed it from Italy and Spain. Sunny sovereignty ! ☀️☀️

Tory MP Daniel Kawczynski is about to speak at a conference with far-right figures in Rome He has just backed far-right leaders Viktor Orban and Matteo Salvini by name, saying they "represent serious ideas and concerns, some of which are shared by many citizens of the UK"

Are we ever going to get a decision on Boris Johnson helping his mistress Jennifer Arcuri to £120k of taxpayers money or are we all supposed to just forget about that now? See also: Tories bribing Brexit Party candidates. And while I’m at it, RUSSIA REPORT? HELLO?

Since 2010, we’ve seen: ▪️cuts & chaos in prisons ▪️the collapse of probation ▪️weakening of counter-terror legislation ▪️loss of 1000s of Police officers Given all of this, it’s surprising the self-styled Party of Law & Order is not getting much sharper media criticism.

Who cut 21,000 police officers? Who cut 24,000 police staff? Who closed 600 police stations? Who cut CPS? Who privatised the Probation Service? Who closed our courts? Who cut the Prison Service? Who claimed it’s not about numbers?

“Among those who refused the briefing and walked out included the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg, ITV’s Robert Peston and political journalists from the Daily Mail, Telegraph, the Sun, Financial Times, and Guardian.” Well done and about time before you create a mirror image of Trumpland

For four years under Tony Blair's government I worked for the Daily Mail. His No10 absolutely hated us - you might say justifiably - and yet we were never banned from any briefing involving civil servants under his government, ever.

Breaking/ just tried to ban certain national newspapers from a Number 10 briefing. This is truly sinister stuff. Hats off to the BBC, ITV, Mail, Telegraph & Times for walking out too in protest, rather than let him get away with it.
