    We need a new normal in prosecution and we need federal leadership to get us there. Today, over 100 bipartisan criminal justice leaders urged to establish a Task Force on 21st Century Prosecution to catalyze change in the criminal legal system.

  18. Once the FRU makes a decision to approve charges a case will proceed through court. The FRU has approved 85% of all violent crime charges presented to them since took office in December of 2016. 3/3

  19. Once the review process is complete, the FRU will either approve or decline to file the charges, or choose to continue the case for law enforcement to do further investigation. The FRU is also contacted for assistance in securing search warrants and arrest warrants. 2/3

  20. Once an arrest is made, law enforcement sends the case to the CCSAO Felony Review Unit for review of felony charges. This is the first step of the honest and vigilant prosecution of crimes -  making charging decisions and ensuring that appropriate cases get charged. 1/3
