The PEOPLE who work there may and probably do have good moral and ethical principles. This is irrelevant. They are powerless to affect the course of a corporate giant, and will be fired for doing the right thing if it hurts YouTube’s profits to do so.

Don’t expect YouTube to do anything because “it’s the right thing to do.” If you want YouTube to take action, you have to convince them that it will hurt their bottom line if they don’t. You have to leave the platform, or demonetize yourself to stop generating money for them.

And to the millions of people who don’t read my tweets who might be thinking of starting a business: build ethics into your model. Make it so that you can’t succeed without ethical conduct, so when your business grows up, it will still do the right thing.
