I mean, people said the same about my doing a video on autogynephilia. Maybe wait till the video comes out before critiquing it?

I don't like the word "trap." In fact, I'm making a whole video about why I don't like it!

A critical analysis of the word doesn't require that the video be titled after a popular anti-trans 'meme'.

But, I guess you can just dismiss all these trans people objecting to the title as part of the ~hysterical~ trans twitter crowd, right?

Contra, it's known that the word you're using is a slur. What I'm asking is, are you sure you couldn't phrase it in a non transmysogynist title like "the heterosexual male anxiety about trans women" or something? You're smarter than I am. There's a non meme way to express this.

honestly, i really wish it was framed entirely differently, it's not just the issue of saying 'trap' it's using the click-bait-y title of 'are traps gay'. i don't hate you or want you to go away, i enjoy some of your videos, but i think the framing of this was in poor taste.
-
like yeah, i know it's going to pull in more views, likely from lots of alt-right type folks, but it still feels like throwing folks under the bus since it's invariably going to just be passing confirmation bias for a lot of people.

The slur is bad as it is. But... framing the title as a question plays into the same discourse transmysoginists use. It's a different case than the autogynophilia video where the title is the word and just that.

I'm gonna chime in and rule it: honestly, but inelegantly. Hope y'all get somewhere with this. I can see both sides; Contra, that it's not an earnest adoption but rather adoption-by-reply, and Alicia, that putting it in the title is way too close to earnest adoption.
