I'm much more reluctant to discuss race than I used to be, I think as a result of seeing how easy it is for cis people to fuck up talking about trans people, and being aware (very loosely speaking) that whiteness is the cisgender of race.

(Re first tweet in this thread) I'm not saying race is a matter of psychological identity or anything like that. The analogy is: As being cis tends to make you oblivious to trans issues, being white tends to make you oblivious to race issues.

Hate that you have to walk on eggshells. I'm sure that there are times where you got things wrong talking about race and even trans issues, but based on what I've seen there's no reason to believe you're anything but a smart person doing their best to talk through tough topics.
