This following thread is a response to @ArielleScarcell and @MsBlaireWhite's video about dating preferences and transphobia. https://youtu.be/f6ywxHAvAds (1/??)

Arielle believes and advocates the idea that people are only attracted to trans people on the basis of their birth sex. She mentions having dated a trans man because she was attracted to him *as a woman.*

She repeatedly suggests that any and all so-called "lesbians" who are into trans women are actually just bisexuals who could never understand the true lesbian mentality.

Her point is always: lesbians aren't into trans women *because* they're lesbians. Gay men aren't into trans guys *because* they're gay. The idea is that sexual orientation is based exclusively on assigned birth sex, and *gender* is little more than a figment of trans imagination.

why can't people just be attracted to who they are attracted to? If a lesbian is attracted to a MtF trans woman then so be it. If they aren't they aren't. I am attracted to women but I'm not attracted to every woman on Earth.

lol guess im not a lesbian how embarrassing ive been mistaken this whole time

This is a big part of it. Their framing excludes cis lesbians who date/fuck trans women by not-so-subtly implying that they're, for lack of a better phrase, somehow less (or not at all) lesbian.
