Addendum to AGP video: Blanchard/Bailey are often misread as saying that because nonandrophilic trans women are autogyenphilic, they aren't really trans. Now, that is the clinical practice of a lot of shitty therapists, especially historically, but it's not B&B's claim—

Ironically tho even tho B/B see us as men either way - the "truest transsexuals" of the two would be the AGP, since they at least imagine themselves to actually be women, even if it is, in their mind, for sexual purposes. Whereas the failed gay guys are just failed gay guys.pic.twitter.com/rjxHK6UUL4

yeah if you want to have this toxic & bad & self-sabotaging & useless conversation there is a case to be made that AGPs are even more True, since their desire to be women is psychologically deeper, they're (supposedly) more likely to pursue GRS, etc.

yeah I say "when they have their PR faces on" because when they don't, Blanchard/Bailey represent AGP in an obviously disdainful and derogatory way.

What's interesting is that most trans women I've heard say "learning about Blanchard's theory delayed my transition by X years" also knew that he supports transition for both types, and yet it still has that negative effect on their developmental trajectory.

Which suggests the harm of his theory is deeply embedded within it, and can't be easily dismissed by that caveat.
