The degree to which transness applies to your sex life doesn’t necessarily speak to your feelings about women, it speaks to how your physical urges express themselves when your relationship with your body is marked by dysphoria.

trans women like you who are simply themselves, and spectacular. That cuts through the politicization and allows us to learn about ourselves. Part of why I denied being trans for a while was because of a post I saw about supporting trans women with male pattern baldness.

It’s a good post and I adore it, but it also made me assume that, since I’ve got a prominent M-line, I would never pass and couldn’t try. That illusion wasn’t dispelled by activism, it was dispelled by a trans friend of mine discussing her haircare process.

But the world needs eloquent and honest trans women. That’s not the only kind of trans woman the world needs, and nobody should ever EXPECT that of trans women, because it takes courage, enthusiasm and a particular skillset.
