Trans bashing is popular, and that makes it an excellent opening move for social conservatives who want to endear themselves to a wider audience.

This never would've worked the other way round. A U of T professor who said that women were inviting sexual harassment by wearing makeup would've been widely and immediately condemned. But refusing to bend a knee to the powerful non-binary agenda: we can all sympathize with that.
But we shouldn't sympathize with it. It's just a ploy, an exploitation of mass ignorance and confusion about trans issues to stir up reactionary paranoia. It's a good ploy though.pic.twitter.com/L4dl6LBLCW

Not that I understand being trans and trans concepts 100 percent — I’m cis, so I can’t. And I have to admit some of the jargon I hear in SJ circles intimidates me

To be fair, she said it was harder for her to COME OUT as conservative than trans which... yeah, that's exactly how it should be. There's nothing wrong with being trans.

I'm still regularly shocked at how even nominal liberals will side with the reactionaries when it comes to trans rights. Particularly when it comes to transitioning. People get REALLY uncomfortable.
