My take is that we're "female" in the colloquial sense where female implies woman, but in a strictly biological sense trans women on HRT are sort of sexually non-binary, with some male attributes (chromosomes), some female attributes (secondary sex chars, endocrine system)...
and some "pseudo-intersex" attributes (shrunken, non-functional gonads)
