I originally got the idea for "Dost Thou Bleed?" when a TERF told me I would never be part of "the sisterhood of the blood." Exact quote.

I saw a TERF trying to tell someone that taking the pill to avoid periods makes them less of a woman b/c “u have to own the pain of womanhood” or something... I kinda just noped out of that threadpic.twitter.com/yxrWghSlgC

Definitely, a lot of pain that morphed into rage against men, black and white thinking and the bullshit idea of a "sisterhood of the blood"
-
they love to misgender transwomen because the existence of transwomen suggests that there is suffering greater than theirs possible and they feel like their needs have been passed over in favor of trans issues.

Less sympathetic take: TERFS and at least some other Radfems are pretty open about the fact that aren't pursuing freedom of choice or agency for women. What they want is to end patriarchy, but not to free women--they want to step into the power vacuum.

Portraying themselves as fragile victims has been a power tactic for white women for centuries, and this is just another form.

This is all driven by the idea that trans women are really just men invading women's spaces both logically (in the way colonizing femininity) and physically (i.e. bathrooms).
