But it also sucks on my end, because it often feels like I can't speak my mind, can't debate, can't publicly engage with outsiders without my distrustful so-called comrades thinking I'm about to abandon everything I've ever stood for. And, to be honest, that hurts.
So I know this reassurance means nothing, but for the sake of formality I suppose I'll say that no, I'm not on the verge of abandoning everything I stand for. And not even being disowned by the left would be enough to make me join the right.
One common theme I noticed with the far left is that they tend to think if anyone hears dissenting opinions, they'll adopt those opinions-
It's like a fear that everyone else does not have the ability to think critically for themselves. Obviously not all, but a strong theme.
This is honestly the left's biggest problem: We fracture over the smallest disagreements --

I think people are more afraid of you being friends w/ or becoming more of a centrist than you were when you started.
