So when I say similar things, people are reminded of the other people who have said those things and then abandoned the left altogether. So it's understandable that people are wary of being betrayed.

But it also sucks on my end, because it often feels like I can't speak my mind, can't debate, can't publicly engage with outsiders without my distrustful so-called comrades thinking I'm about to abandon everything I've ever stood for. And, to be honest, that hurts.

So I know this reassurance means nothing, but for the sake of formality I suppose I'll say that no, I'm not on the verge of abandoning everything I stand for. And not even being disowned by the left would be enough to make me join the right.
