The happiness is bought, though, at a definite cost. I've lost all sense of public and online safety. There are many parts of the country and world I simply cannot enter. I'm staring down an expensive, painful itinerary of medical procedures.

There's this TERF idea that "men are doing this" to trick lesbians (or men) into sleeping with them. But as a get-laid strategy, transitioning is about the worst you could possibly do.

I was a sexy, sexy man. I was educated and well-spoken. Women always wanted to date me, from age 17 onward. I never even had to try.

When I started testosterone-blockers my sex drive was effectively annihilated. I don't have sex, I don't look at porn, I don't masturbate. At all. I hope I get a sexual life back eventually, but, if I don't, was this still worth it? Hell yes.

So when you're trying to understand how much transitioning matters to trans people, just take how much sex and masturbation matters to men, and know that it matters much more than that. "How's that possible?" Well, if you're not trans, you're probably just not going to get it.
