I don't agree. I think the attack on "political correctness" and so on *is* identity politics. It is virtue-signaling to white people.

Questioning Obama's citizenship is identity politics. Saying there were "fine people" at a white supremacist event is ID politics.

Trans military ban is ID politics. The Wall. The Muslim ban. Railing against Obama care. Trump is nothing but identity politics.

On the right, white identity politics is the only politics that's not called "identity politics."

And "anti-identity politics" is usually just politics aimed against "identity" groups: PoC, LGBT, women, immigrants.
