It's fascinating to me that liberals think we should appeal to white working class on basis of whiteness, rather than on working class-ness.
the reason they do that is a lot of whites refuse to think of themselves as belonging to a class that includes non-whites

In America it is simply much easier to appeal to racial solidarity than class solidarity

I don't think that's as immutable as liberals think it is/ want it to be. Liberals hate socialists more than they hate fascists after all.
