Doing it that way definitely gives you the most flexibility during editing, which is a big plus.

Though I typically plan out shots ahead of time and shoot accordingly, so I don't have to do the whole thing twice.

It locks me in to that pre-chosen shot list, but it makes for a shorter shoot. So there are advantages/disadvantages to both ways.

yeah I think I might do that next time. doing it all twice took forever and I just filled a 64 GB card...
