I've had several people ask me if Cockbane's cruelty is a caricature of TERFs, and to be honest it isn't. They're really like that.

It's always puzzled me. It's not a mere philosophical disagreement. They often seem to want to cause trans people as much pain as possible.

I think the idea that it's a kind of misdirected vindictiveness—cis women treating trans women the way men treat cis women—is v plausible.
