Lynchings, police brutality, mass incarceration. & I think about the beautiful lives lived & astonishing art produced in those circumstances
You can live a good life even when your society basically hates you. You just have to be resilient, ironic, funny, & very very thickskinned.

When I was a child some of my fav characters were trans and I always thought it was normal. I never thought people hated anyone for it.

I guess that's the key, to tell people from very young that it's okay to be trans and they deserve to be loved just like we are.
