I'd be interesting to do some digging into the history of the usage of the phrase "Western values." I'm guessing it's pretty recent.

I believe the term came into some use during the Red Scare of 20s/30s, and became reinforced during Cold War.

Yeah homonationalism got its start in the 90s. The Dutch were early pioneers. Fascist/racist use of western values is a lot older though.
