Whenever I criticize "Western values" rhetoric, people always respond by saying "so you're saying LGBT rights are bad?"

"Western values" is a dogwhistle for Western—white—people.It's only when talking to me they pretend LGBT/feminism has anything to do with it
Even in response to this thread people are obstinately pretending my aversion to "Western values" rhetoric means I don't support LGBT rights

Western values includes freedom and rights and some form of democracy. And not wanting gays to get married is not equivalent to killing them

The DUP & Sinn Fein in my homeland very much build their campaigns around "values" rhetoric but neither's vision is near mine.
