It's one thing when my public behavior is self-destructive—of course it is, it's always going to be.

But I've got to be more careful because so much is at stake for so many people.

I just have to find a way to be funny and affable while also dead serious and very afraid.

Achieving political goals, like justice, requires that one engage with others who may not agree. That engagement can take many forms.

In doing so, one affirms one's values and works to stand up for what's right. That's still true even if the other is unconvinced.

Are you saying this in regards to how this affected your friends, or the hundreds of marginalised folk hurt by it?

I sincerely want to talk about this because i've invested a lot of time in this and don't want to see it go to waste or fall on deaf ears.
