The point of the preceding thread is that I am absolutely and totally, 100% against referring to criticism of Islam as "Islamophobia."

The question is: how do you openly critique Islam without fueling Islamophobia?
You reserve your critique for specific circumstances where it might actually be useful.

It just seems to me like instances where it would do more good than harm are few and far between.

I agree. The only times I generally bring it up is in response to people with a Pollyannaish, romanticized view of Islam.
