I'm not entirely sure why the conflation is often made when it comes to Islam and Islamophobia. Maybe because the words are too similar.
You can criticize Judaism without being anti-Semitic. That doesn't mean anti-Semitism isn't a very real phenomenon.

Also, Islam isn't a race. But anti-Islamic bigotry often comes out as hating on anyone who looks Middle-Eastern. Or Sikh. Or SE Asian.

Like, as a secular Jew, most secular or moderate and/or reform Jews will criticize the shit out of orthodox Judaism and the like.
