There is a setting buried within 'media' in Premiere's preferences. I have found that unchecking H.264 acceleration has reduced headaches

another point also is not use the windows version of h.264 codec , k-lite and ffmpeg i had to use as it uses larger rez conforms

one things i hate about premiere is the caching crashes , have to delete the caches before re-rendering , else it overflows on page space
