Opposition to homosexuality was never really about science in the first place. That's a misunderstanding about how bigotry works

No I agree, which can lead to bad science that's used to justify bigotry. Having a pre-determined conclusion "x is bad" then looking for it.

So yes activism opened the door to better medical understanding. Not denying the role activism played. Unless medicine is just opinion now.
