So if you're trans, you can capitulate to prevailing prejudice and say "I am disordered and diseased," or you can work to gain acceptance.

I think there may be a distinction between recognizing dysphoria as dysfunction; and moralizing it as a personal failing.

Same for depression and obesity: it's possible, but not easy, to recognize medical root causes w/out moralizing.
