I'm actually not sure this is a thing that's not happening, when I think about it? An idea, once presented, is open to debate.

And then any sort of formal, structured response to that idea, to my mind constitutes that idea being debated and it happens.

So right wingers publish a book that's like "the Stolen Generation didn't happen", for an Australian example, that is debate.

And it happens all the time, it's just kind of the case that Conservatives are bad at idea.

I think frankly that face-to-face spoken debating and one-on one engagement is kind of actually not great for idea engagement.

We need to be encouraging more conservatives to actually become willing students. There's only so much a teacher can do.

I actually think the stuff your your YT videos have a good role to play in stuff like this, by the way.

Good texts are better for long-term ideological change than good chats, and your stuff is good text.
