I haven't had such luck since the ginger-ale-and-brandy incident of October 2012.
Nothing in the house to drink but fucking dry vermouth. Fortunately, google says that + club soda is a real cocktail, & actually drinkable.

Better than sweet vermouth. My friend said it's an ingredient in a Manhatten, but otherwise I can't stomach sweet vermouth.
