that's not what I'm saying. To me "colorblind" implies a phony obliviousness to the social reality of race that's not helpful.

In the place I grew up you don't hear the racial slurs anymore, because these people are our friends, co-workers, and family

that is an ideal situation. But it's not the situation of most of the world. And we don't get there by looking away from race.

That's the point Riley. It wasn't an Ideal situation. We overcame the Racism by focusing on each other as People, Not Colors
