It's pretty grim. Lots of stories of botched lethal injections and all sorts. It's far from painless.

I'm not in favour of the death penalty myself. The argument can be made it's not a deterrent but can lead to even worse crime.

There's also the argument that, if you think you're going to be killed for committing a crime, you'll commit a worse one.

Why leave witnesses if you think it could lead to your own death? Death penalty is antiquated and based on emotion.

I don't know, I think life in prison, for me, is even more a deterrent than the death penalty. But enough people on death row...

I guess. One argument I hear is inmates a state burden. I've nothing against them paying for their upkeep via labour.

The death penalty is also extremely expensive, because of appeals, and inmates often on death row for a decade anyway
