Yep. Aggression and scorn are sadly some of the most effective ways to discourage potential challenges to your ideas or reputation in academia. It lets some of the worst people rise to the top, and ensures the worst ideas will always have supporters.
You can tell by an academics skull shape that they are prone to these kind of problematic slip ups.
