Yeah I know some people who work for universities that book these events, and they tell me it’s common for Shapiro-tier figures to make $100,000 per talk. Very lucrative racket. Whereas left-leaning student groups sometimes act taken aback when I ask for a small fraction of that.
I look back at my starting rate and how people were shocked at it and wonder if they even really respected me or wanted brownie points
As a former Student Government member at a community college, I have to say $100k was our entire yearly budget. We really could not afford to spend that much on speakers or entertainment. But I understand your frustration as a talent who deserves to be paid what you're worth.
Left-leaning student groups in the UK don’t have the budgets to pay at all most of the time (many don’t charge for membership or they run as uni “associations” so they are more financially accessible but don’t qualify for funding) 
I refuse to do a university talk for under 300K.
I refuse to talk at a university for less than the Koch Brothers’ net income. I’ll settle for the Walton Family’s net income.
Don't forget that they're funded by very powerful and wealthy figures like the Koch bros while most independent youtubers (like yourself) have a more "grassroots" supporting base of folks with other kinds of material conditions... But that's still absolutely on the money.

A great example of ideologies that thrive under capitalism vs those that merely survive.
I don’t understand how a school can justify paying that money. When I was in college and my friends were booking bands, 100k was seriously popular groups. Are students really clamoring for Ben to come insult them?
