Considering how anxious I am about passing IRL, it sure is weird that on YouTube I'm apparently fine presenting as a series of drag queens and female impersonators.

Huh, I’d assumed the costumes were the only quarter-way socially acceptable way for you to present close to yourself on camera pre transition and the gimmick kind of stuck. Like, you can always just be you now. And Tabby, we need Tabby.

Deliberately nonpassing or not valuing passing is also a workaround that has worked for me. Passing is a massive anxiety boost tbh.

This is basically one of the reasons I'm interested in doing a bit of drag myself. That and I've never before been one to even try makeup, but you and the makeup tubers make it look fun. OTOH, I've lived as male for so long I worry that the whole thing might be a bit of a shock.
