Hey guys here's my thoughts about press coverage of me primarily focusing on "deradicalizing the alt-right." Deradicalizing is part of my work, maybe even the most important thing I've done. I'm grateful for the recognition. But I don't want to be pigeonholed either. Short thread

one question. Do you have a plan for when there is "peace" if it should ever happen? i ask as an ally and shrapnel catcher.
-
There will never be peace. The current alt-right is the result of a decades-long effort between wealthy capitalists bent on control through electoral deregulation and the media, and the GOP's "southern strategy" of doubling down on racism to build a loyal white exurban base.

Hey Natalie! I just wanted to say that I'm an academic and I've also done interviews with journalists about the alt-right and it's really tough. I did an interview with NBC that basically ruined me for months a lot of "digital self harm" as you called it once. Your videos have 1/

Love all of your work hun. And to me it seems like it forms a whole. Finding a c21 form for the art of self-composition, which includes but isn’t limited to the political arts of self defense.

Any act of non normative self composition has to deal with a nightmare world of mediated noise and terror aimed at shutting us down. So as much as I
a good trans make up channel, there’s work in carving media space where that could be more than our private world. - 3 more replies

Well I only learned of your deradicalization work thanks to the NYTimes article, I watched your videos because you offered fantastic resources for challenging alt-right bigots online that it could be reaching them directly and influencing them for the better is something I missed
-
After reading that NYTimes profile I thought back and saw those videos in an entirely new light. But they were always valuable beyond just deradicalization. They were excellently researched, factual and entertaining resources on serious social issues of our time.
