Hey guys here's my thoughts about press coverage of me primarily focusing on "deradicalizing the alt-right." Deradicalizing is part of my work, maybe even the most important thing I've done. I'm grateful for the recognition. But I don't want to be pigeonholed either. Short thread

So basically, please don't drag journalists for covering the deradicalization story. If there's a profile/interview/podcast with me, it's because I agreed to do it. If I ever decide to fully distance myself from the deradicalization role, I will stop agreeing to these things.

what your work has meant for LGBTQIA+ people, people of color, women, for the marginalized, for the broken, is priceless. It's hard to say what the most important thing you've done is. All of your videos are both cathartic in expression and soothing with your deepest empathy.

It will never be irrelevant. Your work on that is timeless. They may change brand, but their argument patterns will remain exactly the same. Those videos taught me so much about how to argue myself & all your work is fash-bashing af. It lives on, even as you move on

I love your content, but I wish more than anything that the alt-right would become irrelevant. Unfortunately they seem to be more powerful than ever.

I'd watch your coverage any topic. Keep on rocking.

If you mean the alt right as the current iteration of Euro-American fascism then yes. However the open and crypto fascism of the alt right is now acceptable in the Conservative political sphere.

Sadly, I'm not that sanguine that your work will become irrelevant any time soon. I have a sinking feeling these fascists are going to stick around as long as possible.

Yep, that's why liberal factions are a thing again. Everyone figures the alt-right is dust,so they're prepping for post-war. I think we're overconfident frankly. Everyone wants the war to be over, but that's not the same as it being resolved, not when the enemy is still fighting.

"I expect will soon become irrelevant (the alt-who???)." That's a nice thought.

I feel like that's pretty much inevitable with the work you do. After the progress is made people stop needing reminders about why they shouldn't have these biases.
