I believe the core point of the mentality is punishment. Tie it to pro death penalty, incarceration, austerity politics particularly a hostility towards social welfare programs. There is a view of personal responsibility and if you “fail” there must be harsh punishments

I know that thing is supposed to be encouraging, but I have two issues with it. 1) I'm suspicious of the precision of its results (many people who favor banning only 'trivial' abortions might still answer no because health-critical abortions are fine).
